- Medical records
It is very important that our doctor have access to your pet’s
previous medical records from your primary veterinarian. These records
contain
important information such as previous weights and medications, and
include
A) Written records
B) Lab tests
C) X-rays
Please ensure that you hand carry this information to us, or request
that your veterinarian fax these to us prior to your appointment.
- Fast your pet
Many of the diagnostic procedures your pet has been referred for
require sedation or anesthesia. Please be sure not to feed your
pet for about 8-12
hours prior to your appointment. Small amounts of water a few hours
before your appointment is OK.
- Medications
Bring any medications you have been giving your pet at home with
you if at all possible. If your pet may have eaten a poison, try
to bring this
to us as well. This allows us to be sure what your pet has been receiving
at home.
- We may need urine
As we can’t ask your pet for a sample, please try to prevent your
dog from urinating just prior to coming in. We will be happy to take him/her
for a nice walk after we obtain the sample!
